Meet Gwav, our Winter inspired Gnome

Gwav is Kerneweck (Cornish) for Winter. 

"The trees are now almost bare, heading towards their winter hibernation.  The grass has stopped growing, and there are frosty mornings galore!     Although it's not officially winter til December the first, something magical is happening in an old abandoned rabbit burrow deep in the woods.....   Listen carefully.........    Those tiny snores that could be heard coming from the burrow have stopped, and there is a distinct sound of rustling of crunchy leaves.

For 3 seasons, the abandoned burrow has been home to Gwav - he slept away Spring, Summer and Autumn with his gnome magic keeping him nourished, and has been conserving his energy for the cold winter to come.

Dawn breaks on a silent, white world.   The first snows of the season!  Gwav pulls on his beautiful blue socks, and his matching hat and sleeves, making sure his snowflake is attached firmly to his hat - this silvery snowflake holds his magic so he doesn't get too cold and tired walking through the snow when he begins to gather his supplies.

Today's tasks are to break the ice on buckets and puddles, so that his wildlife friends can have a drink, and he will check on his gnome friends to make sure they are all tucked into their respective homes and are safe throughout the winter. "

Kit contents:

50g professionally scoured perendale wool (uncarded) from Hannah's Flock.

10g blue wool cloud 

10g Winter Wonderland mixed breeds locks

5g mule undyed curly wool 

10g cream mixed species fibre  

Instruction booklet

Kit with props: as above, plus snowflake charm and Ice Staff

You'll also need a felting mat and needles (not supplied in the kit)
